NBA Opening Night: Props for fun

NBA is back! Hard to believe. Two games tonight to open up the season, featuring 3.5 championship contenders. Yes we'll give the Lakers a half as a courtesy to Lebron, but let's be honest, they will surprise everyone by just staying out of the play-in game, in either direction.

We know you'll be watching, so let's add some fun. For each game, 5 props below and one tiebreaker if needed. All have nearly even chances of happening, so anyone can play. Grab some competition and see who gets the most correct.

Philadelphia 76ers @ Boston Celtics

After a tumultuous offseason that saw them lose their head coach for this year, the season couldn't arrive faster for the Celtics. They start their Eastern Conference title defense against a team also with championship aspirations. Boasting an MVP favorite in Joel Embiid, the Sixers hope a full season pairing with former MVP and perennial all-star James Harden (who claims to be back in shape) will finally help them get past the second round of the playoffs for the first time since Allen Iverson took them to the finals in 2001. This will be a great first test for both teams, who will come out on top?

Los Angeles Lakers @ Golden State Warriors

Defending champ Warriors get to raise their new banner and receive their rings in front of Lebron James and the Lakers. Must feel good. Basketball has not been kind to the Lakers since they received a championship banner of their own after the 2020 bubble playoffs. Since then, they have gone 75-79 and any reinforcements they've brought in have been complete misses (looking mainly at you Russell Westbrook). While on the other side, it seems the Warriors never miss on any of the changes they make to their roster. Their only concern is how to keep all of the great pieces they've accumulated without going bankrupt. Based on their recent resume with basketball decisions, something tells me they'll be just fine.
