Which MLB Baseball Team you should Cheer for Based on your Zodiac Sign

Updated: Mar 31, 2023

Let the stars guide you in finding the team that matches your energy this 2023 season.

Aries - New York Yankees

The number one sign of the zodiac needs the team that embodies number one energy: the Yankees. With your Aries taste for conquering the competition, you'll appreciate that the Yankees have brought back a nearly identical lineup from last season - including home run power hitter Aaron Judge - so it should be a pretty breezy season at the top until the real test starts in October. A true Aries will also fit right in with the Yankee fanbase - the big apple brings big energy for this team but the expectations can turn into a pressure cooker. It's full-on, but that's the only way an Aries knows how.

Taurus - Los Angeles Dodgers

A Taurus loves a little luxury, so we're matching you with the team Hollywood-based celebs love to support: the Dodgers. They've got money and a glamorous fanbase, as well as that LA laid back lifestyle - you'll fit right in. Last year, they were the winningest team in baseball and the outlook for this year is that they'll continue to be on top, showing perseverance a Taurus understands.

Gemini - San Diego Padres

A less thoughtful amateur astrologer would match Gemini with the Minnesota Twins, but not in this elevated reading. This high energy, social sign deserves a team that has enough going on to keep them hooked. And there won't be any dull moments with the Padres. Firstly, the Padres are carrying a lot of free agents into this season, which means there'll be constant conversation and speculation about what comes next, with huge scrutiny on individual player performance. The Fathers are also counting on the return of Fernando Tatis Jr., a heavy hitter who has been suspended for performance-enhancing drug use. All in all, lots of juicy morsels to gossip about. Eat it up, Gemini!

Cancer - St. Louis Cardinals

No bandwagon jumpers here: If you're a fan of the Cardinals, you're a fan for life and we know that Cancers only make commitments that go the distance. Plus, as one of the most historic teams in baseball, the Cards also bring a full history and aesthetic where a nostalgic Cancer can really burrow in and feel at home. Looking into 2023, St. Louis are likely to have some ups and downs as they start this season without Yadier Molina, the rock of a captain they've had behind the plate for 18 years, but crabs are tough (at least on the outside) and no one rides the waves of ups & downs like a Cancer.

Leo - Philadelphia Phillies

In baseball, nothing gets the head-turning attention that Leos love like big hitters. And the Phillies have all the big guns: This team's ability to hit home runs got them to the World Series last season. They're back this year with all the same high voltage star power and more: Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, Reese Hoskins, and - a 2023 new addition - Trey Turner. These are the names of 2023 baseball royalty, so of course it's giving Leo energy.

Virgo - Atlanta Braves

The Braves are moving into 2023 looking strong and with high expectations. Although they seem poised & ready to take the NL East title on the outside, we know there's a lot of work that needs to happen on the inside. Virgos know too well the difficulty of living up to high standards, which is something the Braves are feeling after their disappointing postseason performance last year. This is where the Virgo energy comes in - despite being knocked down last season, the Braves have the work ethic to deliver a picture-polished season this year.

Libra - Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays have spent a couple of years building a lineup of heavy-hitters but this offseason, they were able to procure some defensive players to add versatility for their return in 2023 - a balancing of the scales, if you will. Diplomatic, tactful Libras will also likely vibe with the particularly amicable camaraderie the Jays players have on the bench (have you seen the home run jacket?) and the general Canadian-ness of the MLB's only team from the Great White North.

Scorpio - Houston Astros

The 2022 World Series Champs are already lying in wait for next season - the top tier team you see today has been in the works for years and if all goes according to their carefully laid plans, we will see the Astros hosting another parade in November. This team is building a dynasty and it's the product of years of strategy and plans on plans, which is the type of energy Scorpios apply to getting what they want. On that note, the Astros know exactly what they want and, at this point, everyone else might as well step out of the way.

Sagittarius - New York Mets

The Mets are marching to their own drumbeat as they bring the Sag energy into this season. The owner has gone on a spending spree, racking up a $390M payroll that will result in additional taxes; but we all know a Sag will do what they want regardless of your opinion, thank you very much. These extra funds are fuelling an optimistic outlook for the Mets this season - they could very well finish in the top of the AL East. That said, there are times when a Sag's optimism borderlines on naivety and just because all pieces are coming into place doesn't mean Mets fans should start planning the parade.

Capricorn - Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays garner serious respect amongst true baseball fans - Unlike big market teams like the Yankees or the Mets, the Rays don't have the funds to buy their success. All their results come from nose-to-the-grindstone hard work and no one understands hard work and true grit like a Capricorn. Although it seems like the Rays are likely to maintain their status as the perennial underdog this season, the lack of showy-ness that comes with that role is more your style anyway, Cap.

Aquarius - Chicago Cubs

Just like Aquarians have a tendency for new & original ideas, the Cubs are trying something different this season. They've signed a couple players that are a bit on the older side (but still inside their prime) and who have been underperforming (but unexpectedly). No question that the Cubs have run the data to back up these bets and are making these moves with a conviction that Aquarians can truly appreciate. Let's see if taking the fresh approach will infuse new life into the team - they need it.

Pisces - San Francisco Giants

Talk about inner struggle - the Giants' offseason has been a saga full of the conflicting energy that you feel daily, Pisces. On the hunt for a superstar, the Giants publicly failed to nab Aaron Judge and/or (the especially dramatic) Carlos Correa, leaving the fans feeling the intensity of all the highs and lows. It's hard to say how San Francisco will fare this season, and right now, harnessing that Pisces spirit of going with the flow seems like the best way forward.
